It is not present all the time it comes and goes but it is an unsettling sound possibly of impending doom like the transmission is going to explode.

The transaxle was replaced at 465 miles for excessive noise.
Has anyone else heard a marbles in a tin can type of noise coming from the right side of the bike possibly the transmission on my 2009 jackpot.
It was a very disconcerting sound to me early on and if i had not heard about it first here on these forums i would have been very worried myself.
Vanos rattle is usually more plasticky as far as i can tell from.
This may only apply to the 6 speed trans.

Discussion starter 1 feb 12 2011 edited i have been trying to find this rattle grinding noise for a while thinking it was a heat shield or exhaust but i discovered something new about this noise yesterday.
Published on nov 29 2011 in the lower revs there is a strange rattling sound much like marbles in a can.
The rolling marbles problem sounds interesting and intriguing partly because the answer probably combines different areas of acoustics.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo bppv is scary because it hits so suddenly and keeps you from doing normal activities.

The dealership told me i had a bad axle so obviously i can t fully trust their diagnosis since they were flat out wrong about the cause of the marbles in a can sound.
Also up to that point i did not hear any popping noises when going around turns as you would expect with a bad axle.
