Remove the excess water by squeezing the sheets over the bowl. Thermoplastic materials can come in sheets or pre molded units. Continue to hold and press into shape until it begins to harden. Heat is then applied to mold the splint to the contours of the patient s body.

Pull the plastic out and quickly press onto or into the mold that s ready. Once they are molten you can mold them into any shape you desire.

Just heat the sheets with a heat gun or in hot water above 150 degrees f for 2 3 minutes until they turn from white to clear. Thermoplastic splints are lightweight and are available in latex free and anti microbial formulations. Lay the sheets over the mold and up the retaining walls. They are also available in perforated sheets to allow air to circulate around the injury.

Dip the sheets in bowl filled with room temperature water for 1 second. The sheets should be wet not dripping with water. Polly plastics moldable plastic sheets are a great starting shape whether you are making something mending something or modifying something.
